Last month, the Maternal Health Task Force released a new working paper Critical Maternal Health Knowledge Gaps in Low- and Middle-Income Countries for Post-2015: Researchers’ Perspectives. The paper proposes maternal health research and program goals for the next decade. MHTF describes the cross-cutting themes as three main areas of work: persistent and critical maternal health knowledge gaps, crucial issues in maternal health that have not received adequate attention from donors and researchers, and new situations and emerging challenges that affect maternal health.
We encourage you to read the paper and think about how these recommendations can shape the landscape for maternal health research, including into maternal morbidities and fistula, over the next few years. EngenderHealth and Fistula Care Plus look forward to using the guidelines outlined in the paper to work towards a fistula free generation!
